The Chicago Maroon was awarded the 2007 Newspaper Pacemaker, the highest honor for the Associated Collegiate Press.
The Maroon was one of 11 newspapers that won the non-daily, four-year college category. There were 224 entrants in total across all categories (which include Four-year Daily, Four-year Non-daily, and Two-year Newspapers).

The Associated College Press is the oldest and largest national membership organization for college student journalists.
